A Bit About Me
I’m Nicholas Eng a driven and curious student at Washington University in St. Louis, pursuing a joint degree in Business and Computer Science. My passion lies at the intersection of technology and business, where I thrive in roles that allow me to blend strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving. With experience in consulting, business systems analysis, and leadership, I bring a well-rounded perspective to any project I take on.
How I Got Started
My professional journey began with a fascination for technology and entrepreneurship. Over the years, this curiosity has evolved into practical experience, including internships at Centene and Dot Foods, where I served as a Business Systems Analyst. During these roles, I gained valuable insights into process optimization, project management, and the importance of leveraging technology to drive business outcomes.
I’ve also had the privilege of consulting for startups through WashU’s CELect program in London and leading strategic initiatives as the President of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at WashU. These experiences have refined my skills in teamwork, leadership, and client interaction.

This project involved gathering requirements, designing workflows, and ensuring the application aligned with team needs. I collaborated closely with stakeholders and integrated the solution with PagerDuty to enhance tracking and reporting capabilities. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in application development, project management, and cross-functional communication, gaining valuable insights into how technology supports operational efficiency and continuous improvement in the healthcare industry.
At Dot Foods, I worked as an IT App Development Intern, developing an AI chatbot for customer service representatives. Using Microsoft Azure, C#, and LINQ, I built the chatbot to leverage natural language processing (NLP), enabling it to understand requests and make the correct API calls to retrieve relevant information. This project gave me valuable experience in cloud technologies, software development, and AI integration, enhancing operational efficiency in customer service.
As the STC Lead and Level II Technician, I provide technical support to students and faculty at Washington University in St. Louis. My responsibilities include troubleshooting a range of issues, such as virus removal, data backup, hardware diagnostics, and operating system reinstalls. I act as a liaison between student employees and full-time staff, ensuring smooth operations and communication. I organize the annual STC Tech Expo for residential colleges, coordinate with other technicians, and propose new policies to improve services.
