Statements of Interests

I am a versatile problem-solver with strong analytical, leadership, and technical skills, which I’ve applied in management consulting, project management, and software engineering roles. My strengths include process optimization, data analysis, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver strategic solutions. I excel in breaking down complex challenges and creating impactful, data-driven recommendations. Whether driving business strategies, managing projects, or developing software solutions, I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute my expertise in dynamic, fast-paced environments. I am eager to bring my diverse skills to roles where I can help organizations solve critical problems and drive growth.

Managment Consulting

Entry-level management consultants typically start their day reviewing project updates and client feedback. Much of the day is spent analyzing data, brainstorming solutions, and preparing presentations for clients. Afternoons often involve internal meetings with senior consultants and client calls. The workload is project-based, and tasks can range from market research to operational improvements, depending on the client's needs. Long hours are common, and travel may be involved for on-site client meetings.

I’m drawn to management consulting for the variety of industries and challenges it offers. I had the chance to interview a WashU alumnus who now works at McKinsey & Company, and they emphasized the dynamic nature of the field, explaining how each project brings a new challenge. This constant exposure to different industries and business models keeps the work engaging. I also appreciate the opportunity to work on strategic problems that have a direct impact on businesses' success, allowing for both personal and professional growth

What motivates me most about management consulting is the continuous learning and professional development. The alumni I spoke with mentioned how consulting firms invest in their employees through training and mentorship. I’m excited by the prospect of working alongside highly intelligent and motivated individuals, where I’ll be constantly challenged to grow. Additionally, the high level of responsibility consultants receive early in their careers will keep me driven to produce impactful results

My analytical skills and problem-solving mindset make me well-suited for this field. During my internship at Centene, I led an initiative to streamline business processes, resulting in a 25% reduction in unauthorized changes. Additionally, my work with SurgeryAI, where I helped prioritize product features based on market analysis, honed my ability to deliver data-driven recommendations. These experiences align with the demands of consulting, where both strategic thinking and data analysis are essential.

One gap I need to address is my limited client-facing experience. While I’ve developed strong analytical and project management skills, I haven’t had many opportunities to directly manage client relationships. To close this gap, I plan to seek out more client-focused roles in future internships or student consulting projects. Additionally, I will strengthen my technical skills in areas like advanced Excel modeling to better prepare for the complex analyses required in consulting.
